Description
WW1 Victory medal in damaged condition. Repair where some idiot has hacksawed approx 3mm into medal & some rim scuffing. Medal correctly impressed Pte G. Barwell 4566 A.I.F. Born in Christchurch (Ashley) NZ in 1863 , Barwell enlisted in Perth where he was mining 30/10/15 with 16th & later 48th Battalion. Killed in Action Pozieres 6/8/16 ,which would make him 53 years of age (this may need verifying). An interesting medal that needs a good home & safe preservation.
