WW1 NZEF Trio medal group Auckland MR ANZAC Provost Spence 13/2251
Description
1915 star , British war medal Victory medal trio , all correctly named to; 13/2251 Cpl DG Spence NZEF . Spence a 6th reinforcement , missed Gallipoli but served in the Palestine campaign .Posted to ANZAC MR HQ with the ANZAC MR provost corps . Spence , interestingly has a full conduct sheet . 1916 gambling in camp ,for which he recieved 4 days field punishment No2. 1917 was arreseted at 11pm at the Cairos notorious red light district "Wagh el berka" .Most interestingly in 1918 whilst with The MR Provost corp charged with "When in lawful custody attempting to escape !! " .Appears charges were dropped by officer who recommended "Mercy on account of severe provocation" . Certainly an interesting soldier . 1915 star , BWM medals NEF , Victory medal VG.
